The Bagni family values quality time together

The Bagni family, from Wantagh NY, enjoyed a Florida Keys sunset cruise during their vacation at Tranquility Bay Resort in Marathon!

This family understands the value of spending quality time together and quite often vacation together.  This year they chose Marathon and had a great time dining out, kayaking and taking in the sites.

Here, you can share the spectacle of the magnificent Florida Keys sunset …

Florida Keys sunset for honeymooners from Nevada

Chris and Shellie Seelye got married back home in the Reno area and escaped to the Florida Keys for their honeymoon!

They’re enjoying a relaxing time at the Continental Inn in Key Colony Beach, one of the only hotels in the area located directly on the beach.  On their first day of snorkeling off the beach, Chris lost his wedding ring!  No worries.  They ordered an identical replacement to be sent to the Keys.

A little bit of cloud cover did not deter from the always magnificent Florida Keys sunset.  We cruised up the bayside of Marathon so Chris and Shellie could see the resorts and beautiful home that line the shoreline.  We turned and ended the cruise just off the Seven Mile Bridge.

We thank Chris and Shellie for sharing part of their honeymoon with us on the SeaSquared and wish them a lifetime of happiness together!

Pirates and more for the Felice family from New Jersey

Fred Felice, from Toms River NJ, is one of our regular winter anglers as he and his wife spend a few weeks in Marathon each year.  This year he added a sunset cruise for his son, daughter-in-law and two young grandsons.

It was truly a Chamber of Commerce sort of evening with clear skys, calm seas and warm tropical breezes.  We left our home port at the 7 Mile Marina and motored under the Seven Mile Bridge to cruise around the ocean waters.  Our friends Skip and Deb, who own the Schooner Pirates Lady, were also out on a sunset sail so we motored alongside them so our guests could get a good look at their magnificent sailing craft.  We told the young ones we were going to attack the pirates.  Maybe we’d even see Capt. Jack Sparrow.

We headed back toward the bridge and Pigeon Key as the sun was making its final decent.  We got a great shot of the sunset splitting the old and new Seven Mile Bridge spans and ended the evening in the brilliant orange-red glow of the firey sunset on the gulfside of the bridge.

The perfect family ride for the Peterson clan from Minnesota

It just goes to show you can enjoy a sunset cruise even on an evening when the sunset is less than spectacular.

Vacationing from Eden Prairie MN, Aimee and Chris Peterson wanted to get their young boys, Conner and Owen, out on the water.  Grandparents Linda and Bob Peterson joined the group.  The sunset was less important than a calm boat ride with some scenery to enjoy.

We left the 7 Mile Marina and cruised up the gulfside of Marathon to Crane Point and back.  It was an overcast evening but the scenery made up for the lack of spectacle in the sky.  Just as we reached the channel leading into the marina, the sky turned a brilliant pink orange at the horizon and we got just a peak of the famous Florida Keys sunset!

As we all know, what’s really important is quality family time spent together, and the Peterson clan certainly celebrated that during their cruise!

Six mermaids from upstate New York enjoy a Florida Keys sunset cruise!

There’s nothing finer than a Florida Keys sunset and a big ol’ bottle of wine shared by a bunch of girlfriends!

These six friends from the Binghamton NY area sneaked away from family and work obligations to soak up some sun on Sombrero Beach and do a bit of a Duval Crawl.  They included a sunset cruise with Capt. Chris and Christy Johnson of SeaSquared Charters in Marathon Florida Keys.

As the sun sank closer to the horizon and the wine flowed, the chatter and laughter increased proportionately.  By the time we were back at the dock, they didn’t want to get off the boat.

Honeymooners Brett & Katie share an intimiate Florida Keys sunset cruise

Brett & Katie Martin were married in Lexington KY and spent their honeymoon at Conch Key Cottages in the Middle Florida Keys.

They visited The Turtle Hospital and had some nice dinners at various restaurants and, as you can imagine, spent a lot of time at their cozy cottage by the sea.  We were delighted they spent one evening with us.

It was a cool evening by Florida Keys standards, but the honeymooners stayed warm in the glow of their love and the excitement of their new life together.

We wish you many years of happiness, Brett & Katie!

Jim & Betty return with Jersey friends Sue & Clay

Jim and Betty Fritts returned for another Florida Keys sunset and brought their friends from New Jersey, Clay and Sue Koonce.

It was the first visit to the Keys for Sue and Clay, so for them to view the Seven Mile Bridge and Pigeon Key from the calm Gulf waters was a real treat!

The evening was mild and the sky was scattered with the remarkable cloud formations the Keys are so well known for.  The sun burst into a burning orange orb the closer it got to the horizon until – just like that – it was gone, leaving behind trails of orange and red, yellow and violet.  Cameras were click-click-clicking to capture the scene.

See you all again soon!

Twenty Fifth Anniversary Celebration for Jim & Betty Fritts

Jim Fritts called to schedule a romantic Florida Keys sunset cruise as a surprise for his bride of twenty-five years, Betty.

We felt a bit of pressure to produce the best sunset ever for this special event.  No one was disappointed as the sky above the Islands of Marathon lit with firey reds, yellows and oranges.  The colors intesified as the sun set over the Seven Mile Bridge.

On the way back to the dock we were treated with an appearance by a magnificent full moon.

Happy Anniversary Jim & Betty!  See you again soon!
